Geoff Bromilow creates the most beautiful sculptures out of reclaimed timbers. Currently at Gannon House there are examples in Red Gum, Huon Pine, Elm, Olive and King Billy Pine. Bromilow spends time with each piece of timber before sculpting, using the natural variations in colour and grain as an influence for the contours of the torsos.
Living in South Australia Bromilow has been able to salvage timber left after bush fires, sometimes incorporating the charred timber into the form of the sculpture. His work is currently on exhibition at Gannon House Gallery. Come to the gallery or view the selection online.
